Vorwort Analytics started as a personal frustration: every analytics tool either violated GDPR, required a cookie banner, or cost more than the product itself earned.
The thesis is simple — founders deserve a tool that is honest, lightweight, and free of legal headaches.
Timeline
- Week 1Validated the problem
Interviewed 20 indie founders. 18 of 20 were either ignoring analytics or running GA4 with suppressed consent. Clear gap.
- Week 2Built the tracking script
Wrote a 2kb JS snippet that records page views, referrers, and device type without cookies. No personal data stored.
- Week 4Launched on Product Hunt
#3 product of the day. 200 signups in 48 hours. First 5 paying customers by end of week.
- Month 2First €100 MRR
Crossed the first meaningful milestone. Mostly solo founders on the €9/mo plan.

Learnings
The hardest part wasn't building — it was convincing people that simple is enough.
Most founders want dashboards with 40 metrics. What they actually look at is: how many people visited today, and where did they come from. We built exactly that.
What worked: Launching on Product Hunt early, before the product felt "ready". The feedback from real users shaped the v2 roadmap more than any amount of internal planning.
What didn't: Trying to compete on features. Every feature request to add funnel analytics or heatmaps pulled us toward a product we didn't want to build.
